The Energy Audit: How I Track Physical, Mental, and Financial Health

Most people track metrics that don't matter. Revenue, calories, hours worked. What if you tracked what actually drives everything: your energy?

The Realization

I was optimizing the wrong things. Tracking revenue (doesn't predict happiness). Tracking calories (doesn't predict health). Tracking hours (doesn't predict impact).

Then I realized: energy is the actual metric. Everything stems from it.

Part 1: Physical Energy

How do you feel? Rested or depleted? This is simple: movement, sleep, nutrition.

I track: morning energy (1-10), midday dip, evening state. Over time, patterns emerge. When I move, energy is higher. When I skip sleep, energy crashes.

Part 2: Mental Energy

Clarity, focus, decision-making capacity. This is affected by: rest, meaningful work, relationships, learning.

I journal: mental clarity score, focus quality, decision confidence. Pattern: when I'm learning, mental energy is high.

Part 3: Financial Energy

Not revenue or net worth. But financial stress and opportunity. When do you feel abundant? When do you feel scarcity?

I track: financial confidence (1-10), stress level, opportunity awareness. When I have a system, confidence is high.

Closing

Energy is the real currency. Track it. Optimize for it. Everything else follows.
